Bill's mini and micro streamers range from 1-1/2" inches long all the way down to 1/2" inch in length.
I have this one standard size Thundercreek Minnow tied by Bill Blackburn. It's about 1-1/4" inches long. The same length as a mature Golden Stonefly. But Bill likes to make them even smaller, like many of the following. It was from Bill I first heard about and started thinking about mini and micro streamers. These guys tied ultra small, so they're 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch long overall are dynamite flies. Who'd a thunk it? In Spring Creek and Tailwater places in between hatches--when the itty bitty bug fishing is slow--mini streamers are like a secret wand. You thought the fish were asleep. But they weren't. They aren't. They're just not coming out for tiny dry flies or wet flies when yours is the only one drifting by. A small minnow........on the other hand.....is often like magic candy.
