| I started with a partial kit for a Tatman boat that I bought from someone who liked the idea of building a boat but didn't really understand the commitment involved. So, I ended up making a lot of pieces from scratch and kind of figuring it out as I went. That's why the forum was so useful. I found the collective wisdom on glues, varnishing, oarlocks, and overall configurations extremely helpful for a first-time boat builder.
As to the photos - I have a friend who is a commercial photographer in San Francisco who shoots mostly cars and large pieces of lab equipment. I was able to sneak in to his studio on a Sunday and use his large coved wall and lights. Since I was building the boat as a gift, I wanted some clear records for myself! thanks very much Adam Grosser |
