Andrew McHarney's Jig:
| It is similar to the tool shown in the plans.
| I started with a piece of 1/4" hardboard 4inches wide and about 24 inches long, beveled to 30degrees on one side.
| To this I attached a 1x4 (also beveled to 30 degrees also 24 inches long) using glue and staples.
| You now have a 30degree V shaped piece.
| Screw the plate of the saw to the 1x4 with the bevel tight up against the blade
| (you will have to adjust the bevel of the saw as you do this to get the scarf angle you desire).
| The 1/4" hardboard is now the plate that runs along the ply you will cut.
| You also need a 3/4x3/4 piece attached along the top side of the hardboard that will run against a board screwed down over the ply as a guide.
| Make a sample cut to find out where to place the guide board.
| I found this jig works well and the long length allows you to get it straight as you begin your cut.
| It may sound confusing here but really only takes a short time to make.
| I will send a pic to mrb if I can ever get my stupid camera to download.
