Dina Mite
These Pott flies look a lot like the Wombacher flies shown
in an another collection, next to this one.
It does seem there was some controversy about who the
original inventor was: Pott or Wombacher. But not much
controversy. Franz B. Pott, a Missoula barber and wig maker,
started selling his woven hair Pott flies sometime during
the early 1920s (*Montana Trout Flies by George Grant).
The Sandy Mite was--without question--the best and most
successful of the Pott flies. It clearly had the best name.
