I've got some diagrams to copy, showing both
the loom on which the Pott hackles were made
and the actual weaving technique.

George Grant incorrectly deduced and reported that
Pott used three threads as the basis for his
weaving technique. This is not correct. Pott
wove his hair hackles around two threads. The weave
itelf was similar to the one Grant eventually
developed himself, but it included one additinal 90 degree
knot, so both ends of the hair ended up pointing in
the same direction.

After weaving a length template was used to trip the hackle
fibers off the correct length (X" for size 10, y" for size 12, etc).

I'll get the diagrams online eventually.
I might even try to weave one or two hackles myself at some point.
