Goofus Bug View in Low Resolution | | Pat didn't invent the Goofus Bug. Folk lore has it that a Californian, possibly named Jack Horner, invented this fly. But Pat did more than anyone else to popularize it. In West Yellowstone in the early 1960's almost everybody thought the Goofus Bug was Pat's fly. Somewhere along the line it later became known as the Humpy. I still call it the Goofus Bug myself. I like flies with goofy names.
