Isonychia Velma
Tue Jun 12 17:48:26 EDT 2007
In the 1978 Third Edition of Tying and Fishing the Fuzzy Nymphs
by Polly Rosborough, Polly's introduction explains this
edition's biggest change is the addition of latin names for the
imitated insects.
This one, the Isonychia Velma--or the Great Western Leadwing--is
the first of an impressive collection of Polly Rosborough
flies made available by the generosity of Skip Hosfield.
There are 70 or more flies in Skip's Polly Rosborough
collection. It will take several weeks to photograph them
all.
Skip also lent me a half a dozen new examples of his impressive
Atlantic Salmon Fly project. So look for the Skip Hosfield
collection to blossum soon too. Thank you Skip.
This is an amazing collection.
