| Richard used Duco cement, slightly thinned with acetone,
| instead of head cement. He, like most tiers, loops the
| thread around the base of each split calf tail wing a
| few times, before winding the hackles. Richard uses two
| hackles per Royal Wulff. He winds one hackle first and then
| the other, rather than winding both hackles at once.
| I also noticed Richard ties the body with just one
| peacock fiber. After starting at the tail, he winds
| that single peacock fiber forward a bit, ties in two
| strands of red floss, and then winds the floss
| over top the peacock strand, thereby forcing the peacock
| strand forward as he winds the floss. Then he tied
| off the floss and finished winding the peacock herl.
| This body-tying technique struck me as an organized
| and well thought sequence of events.
