The Camera
This is a Nikon D70 body, a closeup tube, a PB6 bellows
and a 105 macro lense. A 200mm telephoto works well too,
on this rig. The 200mm allows you to mount the camera
further back from the subject.
The closeup tube is inescapable, because the D70 body
won't mount directly onto the bellows. The back
end of the bellows bumps into the bulging hand grip built
into the body of the camera. There is no auto-focusing
with this rig and no light metering either. But you don't
need it. You're not shooting film, so you just set a
reasonable F-stop and then shoot and delete images
in a loop, until you get the image you want.
