This is a handy tool. Super glue fastens a straight back
razor blade to a 4" -- 6" soft sculpture needle,
with the needle held tight (like a bodkin) in a pin vise.
When tightening up a whip finish knot you can guide
the knot back to the shank of hook with the point
of the needle. Once tightened, you can then cut the
tag end of the thread off by pressing the edge of the
razor blade against the base of the tightened thread
--without cutting anything else.
Good tools that don't cost much are hard to beat.
