| Why? Beats me. Maybe it is the narrow wave length of blue light,

| which allows it to penetrate the watery depths..and maybe not.
|
| But blue do work. Bass fishermen have been tossing purple worms
|
| for years, while westcoast Salmon and Steelhead guys have been using
|
| blue flies too. Is it a surprise that blue is hot trout color too?

| Thanks to Wayne Trzyna, who proved the effectiveness of itty bitty
|
| blues to me on the North Platte last spring.

| This one is tied on a #20 nymph hook, with titanium bead,
|
| light blue floss body and starling hackle. I tie them
|
| with dark blue and sometimes even purple bodies.
|

| This isn't matching any hatch, but I'm a believer.
