| Heat up the eye of a sewing needle with a propane cigarette lighter, then jamb

| it over an ice pick to make a wide-eyed needle for rubberleg sewing.

| Then, for smaller (1" or less) nymphs, sew in the rubberlegs
|
| at the start, as shown. Sewing in at the tail and then dimpling
|
| the abdomen with the rubber tail strands straddling along the sides
|
| of the abdomen adds needed strength to the extended fly body.
|
|
|
| For larger salmon fly sized nymphs (Pteronarcys Californica, etc) you
|
| can sew the tails in at a later step.
