| To make thin sheets of soft worm plastic for fly tying you
| first have to solve the durability problem: in smaller, thinner
| quantities sutable for fly tying, worm resin is not strong.
| Fly tying thread will cut through thin sheets of worm plastic,
| and it will not stand up to the constant whiplash stress of fly casting.
| One way to solve this problem is to make long thin sheets of worm resin
| with a fine nylon mesh embedded inside the plastic.
| Slowly heat a cup or two of liquid worm resin up to 350' fahrenheit.
| Lay several strips of 'spawn sack' nylon mesh in the bottom of
| a plastic dishpan.
| Pour out a layer of hot resin, right on top of the nylon mesh.
| You can make a lifetime supply of this stuff in about an hour.
| Note too that worm resin can also be colored with various resin dyes.
