Ok my Beavertail will finally be ready for paint and varnish with in the week. My questions are this, I have a couple different materials that will be varnished, actually 3 my gunwales are cherry as are the rowers and front seat, I then have a bulkhead made of 9mm Okoume and the back and front deck are a Russian birch plywood, I want the birch to look as close as possible to the Okoume so I need to darken the birch so how do I do that before or after the epoxy and then do I use the same spare varnish for UV protection? Or do a get a darker varnish and just epoxy and use a darker varnish than the clear spare varnish I have for the cherry and Okoume? Second question is that I just realized that the inside bottom is going to be super slick if I just use the same paint as on the interior sides, I want the colors to match but don's want to be slipping all over the place, what are my options?
