Maximum chine angle?

Maximum chine angle?

So I have my adjustable ribs set, but I was curious if there's a safe maximum angle to flare the sides? I like how the sides look, but worried it's to much.
So I'm modifying the BB bland, the 1st and 3rd rib are 2 inches wider, both transoms 2" wider and chines dished 3". Using some scrap plywood and 1/8 cheap plywood till I get it right

Not sure what you're asking. On many McKenzie style boats the side flare is approximately 27 or so degrees off vertical....off right right angles to the ground. Or to the surface of the water. The boat I'm making now is close to 30 degrees off vertical. That's a lot of side flare.

More side flare on a boat with a straight line chine (like the Honky Dory and/or the Beavertail) makes more rocker. To increase side flare without increasing rocker you have to dish out the chine.

Exactly what I'm asking about, thanks
