Also: I bought a can of graphite powder from the gougeons and now am not sure why. Isn't the graphite/epoxy exposed to UV unless properly coated? Is it more durable than glass/epoxy? Slides over rocks easier????
Anybody remember an old Brewer and Shipley song:
Water spirit
ingin' Spring around my head
Makes me feel glad that I'm not dead
Wichi-tai-to...
Ready for the river,
Pete

I met Jim Pepper years ago--early '70's--in Red Wing Colorado (he was the native american saxaphone player,
song writer who wrote Wichi-tai-to).

Anyway, graphite powder is used as a bottom finish.
Mix it with resin, trowell it on,
ush it out, with
a little acetone on the
ush. I'll be honest, I don't
use it anymore. This was something Gougeon Bros came
up with for hulls on racing sailboats. They buffed it
out and waxed it for racing day.
