I met Jim Pepper years ago--early '70's--in Red Wing Colorado (he was the native american saxaphone player,
song writer who wrote Wichi-tai-to).
Anyway, graphite powder is used as a bottom finish.
Mix it with resin, trowell it on,
ush it out, with
a little acetone on the
ush. I'll be honest, I don't
use it anymore. This was something Gougeon Bros came
up with for hulls on racing sailboats. They buffed it
out and waxed it for racing day.
