Notice the tail
The Beavertail is a fly fishing boat.
It has a 48" bottom, so you don't need to
do any side-scarfing (as you do for the Honky Dory's
56" bottom).
The Beavertail's bottom panel is nearly symetrical either side
of the middle, so it has plenty of tail bouyancy to hold
up a rear seated fisherman.
The Beavertail plans include details for building a rear
knee brace, a roped rower's seat (or a simpler hardtop seat)
plus a custom front end that acts as fly line catcher and stripping
basket, as well as a place to stand.
This is one of the few driftboats ever made that trims
properly with a rear-standing fisherman.
