Holy shit that is impressive. Even Pearl couldn't build a boat that tough. I can't weld a steel fence post let alone TIG weld an aluminum dory.

Its not TIG welded. Its MIG welded using an aluminum welding spool gun.

Regardless, thanks.

Kirk

Here what I ended up with for the outside finish. I think it turned out nice. I still need to coat the inside. The aluminum is so bright, it hurts your eyes on sunny days. Need a light charcoal color to tone it down some.

I've had so much fun building this thing I want to do it again. Wife gave me the green light to sell it and start another.

Oh, and here is some Michigan Steel head porn.

Caught May 1st, unfortunately it was not in my drift boat.

The "Wetlander" bottom coating for the shoe is amazing!

I can't believe how slippery it is is. Beaching the boat on the shore rocks requires the use of of dock line. Just a stiff wind will allow it to slide back into the river!

Wow. Holy cow. Holy mellow roll. Other than that I'm at a loss for words.

Well?

Thanks to you talking me into using your wood boat plans to build an alloy boat.
