This is Dave Inskeep's Hellgramite. A 25 year old decked Tatman boat with a 17' foot gunwale. Quite a collection of river permits too.

Running big water is easy. Just follow Dave and you'll be OK

Dayak too. I didn't need the extra pair of oars but I did pop one out of the oarlock at the Coalcreek rapid. Coalcreek kicked my butt last year too. All I could do was use the left oar to keep the boat pointed into the waves instead of getting sideways. But you need to push on those big swells and I almost stalled and slid back a few times. I need to use a small sledge to tighten those oarlocks up. Actually I think I'll buy a new pair of Cobras first. And then tighten those up.

The Green was at 4500cfs last week. Last year at this time it was 13,000cfs. Last year's higher flow was a lot easier. When the fast water drops close to the rocks it pushes the waves up higher, so the runs are not only pock-marked with truck sized boulders the waves are twice as big too. And so too the holes. It was an immersive experience for me. At Wire Fence.
