Wide Body Beavertail Build Update

Well I'm sure anyone following along had figured I'd burned the boat or left the country - but the build continues! The pandemic has slowed progress a bit, though in retrospect I should have been more productive given the lack of after work obligations. We just applied a coat of primer + Wetlander topcoat to the bottom of the boat, and our next move will be flipping the boat and prepping for gunwales. Will try to get a pic when the boat is righted. Slow and steady wins the race right? Have to admit....floating this summer would have been nice, but I'm happy to be where we are right now. Also the boat isn't as wide as the pics make it seem, still come through a bit stretched/distorted. Hope all are well.

Very cool. How wide is it?

54" at the bottom, I think like 72" at the oarlocks - but I'd have to go dig through my measurements again to be sure. It's 72 or 74". About 14' 4-6" Haven't measured it since it came together.

Awesome.
I was talking to a guy the other day. I was on the canal bank and he was in his wide body something (looked like a clackacraft) adjacent to the canal and on the Lehigh River. He was slaying wild German Browns topwater with Hendricksons. Nice catches too.
