Mother's Day Paraducks Caddis

Patterns evolve. I tied a few of these last night at the weekly http://www.bozemanfamilyflyshop.net Bozeman Family Fly Shop chili and fly tying festival. Snorider was there and Willy Self too plus a bunch of other very good tiers. Molly was the only woman tier last night but we've had a few. Kids too.

This one--my best dry fly caddis--floats better when its Snow Shoe Rabbit or Zelon Right Hackle is distributed from end-to-end on the shank, so it has more stability. A slightly upswept duck flank wing insures it lands upright. Floats well. Dries off quickly. Quick to tie too. Troth Elk Hair take me a lot longer.

Scud hook and two materials: Duck flank wing and (in this case) Zelon Right Hackle. Snow Shoe Rabbit is even better. I need to oil up my Ruger 10/22 don some snow shoes. And get a few more.
